Sapote Oil

The oil of sapote (also called "sapuyul") is obtained by cold pressing of the seed of the fruit of sapote, native of the tropical Americas. If this oil is cold, it solidifies; to get it back in a liquid state, just dip it in boiling water. The oil of sapote has a creamy texture and rich, is orange with a scent similar to that of the cherry and almond paste; it also has digestive properties, anti-pruritic and diuretic. 

Origin of the fruit SapotaThe name of the fruit 'Sapota' may not be familiar to most of us. Sapota is better known by the name of 'chikoo'. When we say sapota, reference is tropical evergreen tree. Sapota is delicious fruit, rich in calories, which belongs to the category of fruits like mango and banana. The sapodilla fruit originates in the rainforests of Central America, especially in Mexico and Belize, but is easily found even in India. The fruit has a round or oval shape, with a diameter of about 10 centimeters and a weight of 150 grams. It has 2-5 large, blacks, shiny bean-like seeds in the center. The unripe fruit has a hard surface and the pulp is white to cause a high content of latex. It has a smooth texture and grainy with a sweet and musky. Sapota is high in calories and its sweet taste can be attributed to the presence of simple sugars such as fructose and sucrose that restores energy and revitalize the body.
